Who We Are

The word “Dadirri” means “Inner Deep Listening and Quiet Still Awareness." This concept comes from the Ngan’gikurunggurr and Ngen’giwumirri languages of the Aboriginal peoples of the Daly River region in the Northern Territory, Australia.

To learn more about this philosophy, we recommend exploring the work of the Miriam Rose Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of Indigenous children and youth.

At Dadirri Architects, we listen deeply to understand our clients’ needs while being mindful of our broader ethical responsibilities. We strive to listen to the community, culture, and the natural world. Currently, buildings account for 39% of global energy-related carbon emissions—28% from the energy needed to heat, cool, and power them, and 11% from materials and construction. Therefore, we design high-performing, resource-efficient buildings, repurpose existing structures, and deliver net-zero-ready projects. This means no new gas, leading energy performance, and reducing carbon emissions to achieve a climate-positive future.

For us, sustainability is more than a principle—it’s a way of life.
